Time to Stop and Stare

Today right before boarding the A train at West Fourth Street, I was struck by the ethereal and melancholy sound of a violin. The man playing the violin had a weather-beaten face with deep sunken eyes and a furrowed brow. Nothing recognizable about him.
I wanted to stand and listen but the A approached, drowning out the sound of the violin. On the train, I thought: what if he was a famous musician? In fact, what if he was the worlds most famous violinist? Reminded me of an amazing social experiment conducted in DC where Joshua Bell (the worlds most famous violinist) plays the most elegant music known to man on the most expensive violin in the world in the banal settings of the subway!
